The Walt Disney Resorts are grand reincarnations of bygone days, exotic locales, and incredible architecture. Each of Disney's 24 on-site resorts can, very simply, transport you to another time and place. And it's all done in Disney's classic style, with intricate attention to detail. If you thought that Disney was good at doing theme parks, just wait until you see the vast selection of resort hotels waiting for your reservation. These 24 resorts are sorted into five categories: Deluxe, Moderate, Value, Disney Vacation Club Villas, and Campground. The difference, of course, between the categories is price and amenities. The Deluxe resorts, of which there are eight, are obviously the highest tier in the Disney resort hierarchy. Each stunning and elaborate in it's own right, these resorts take highest honors for exacting their themes, complete with period appropriate costumes for Cast Members, luxuriously appointed rooms and suites, themed restaurants, stunning architecture and luscious landscaping. In truth, all of these things exist throughout the WDW properties; the Deluxe properties just do everything on the grandest scales. The Deluxe Resorts include: Animal Kingdom Lodge, Beach Club Resort, Boardwalk Inn, Contemporary Resort, Grand Floridian Resort and Spa, Polynesian Resort, Wilderness Lodge and Yacht Club Resort. Disney's Vacation Club is a time share including 7 resort hotels that feature larger rooms, some suites complete with multiple bathrooms and complete kitchens. Vacation Club resorts are meant to impart more of a home-like feeling to it's guests, and use the tag line "Welcome Home". The Moderate resorts are more grand in scale than the Deluxe resorts, at a lower price point. In contrast, however, there is nothing disappointing about the four Moderate resorts, which include: Caribbean Beach Resort, Coronado Springs Resort, Port Orleans Resort French Quarter, and Port Orleans Resort Riverside. Finally, the Value resorts are four differently themed, but otherwise similar hotels that allow you the perks of staying on the Disney Property while keeping your budget in check. They include: Pop Century and three All Star Resorts: Music, Sports and Movies. These hotels are bright and cheerful, and a little bit retro. Finally, for those who wish to camp (or bring their RV), rustic accommodations can be found at the Fort Wilderness Campground. It's safe to say that wherever you decide to stay at Walt Disney World, you will find Disney's signature magic, which enthralls kids and pampers parents. You will not be disappointed. |
